Steve Rogers stared outside at the brooding mass of Storm clouds accumulating. It was raining lightly but threatened to become a downpour. It matched how Steve himself felt. A Storm was coming. He was the only one in the Sitting Room at the moment, and he felt very much alone.
He shook his head slightly and flicked on the television.
Industrialist Tony Stark left Washington late yesterday after testifying in closed session before the Senate select commitee on Superhuman relations. When asked to comment on speculation about the possibility of a Superhuman Registration Act in light of recent events, Stark was uncharacteristically vague...
In disgust Steve turned it off. He and his fellow New Avengers leader, Tony Stark- Iron Man- were arguing more and more lately. Stark believed that such an Act was a possibility and that they should support it. But Steve knew from experience such acts almost inevitable denied their subjects their own Civil Freedoms.
He shook his head slightly. Tony had left the day before yesterday on "vital business" and had returned even more grimly than usual. He had then had a long conversation with Peter Parker. And then yesterday he had taken Parker to Washington with him.
"He's bringing Peter onto his side..." he said quietly. "In case it comes to blows." He could not help but wonder why. Almost certainly this Registration Act would never be a real possibility, let alone passed. Did Stark know something he didn't? Steve shook his head. He felt even more alone.

Logan walked by and stopped. "Talking to yourself again?" He asked and walked in.

"Hello, Logan." said Steve, turning to Wolverine. He indicated the television. "Tony has been on. I'm worried he's going to sway Parker over to his beliefs." He looked up, his blue eyes serious. "Logan.... I think Tony believes this is going to come to a fight. If it does... if this ridiculous Registration Act is passed... can I count on you?" He searched Logan's eyes for an answer.

"Hey you know how I think about the gouverment and how they work." He replied. "Of course." He shrugged.

Steve nodded, a slight weight easing from the back of his mind. "Thank you, Logan." he said quietly. Then he looked down. "But it won't get that far... I'm sure it'll never get that far..." he said as though only half believing it himself, then he looked at Logan again.
"So, how has your search for your past been going?" He smiled slightly, though it still looked sad. "Have you been finding some answers?"

"A bit." Logan replied and leaned against the wall.

Steve nodded absently. He looked outside again at the brooding storm-clouds. He knew that more than one Storm was about to break. "How are things at the X-Mansion?" he asked Wolverine. "Have you been there lately?" He knew there was gathering tension with the 198 mutants.
They never spoke about M-Day and the depowering of mutants. It was too much of a touchy subject. Too painful, for everyone concerned.

"No." He replied and looked down. "Don't really have a reason to." He didn't know why he would go back there, now he had his past back he had a lot of places he could go, somehow the mansion had to wait.

"I understand." said Steve. There was silence for a moment. "You know Spider-Man better than I do." he said after a moment. "Tell me.... will he do what he thinks is right? Or what Iron Man tells him to do?" He needed to know the answer to this question. It had been nagging at him for days. "He seems to be very close to Tony these days, and I'm afraid that he will be blinded to the dangers this Registration Act entails."

Logan looked down thinking for a moment. "He is just a kid." He replied. "I don't know what he would do."

Peter had arrived at the Stark towerand was on his way to the other Avengers, he walked around until he noticed Captain America and Wolvie talking.
"Having a party without me, how dare you guys."Peter said as he took a seat, and noticed the tention around the room.
"So what's up?"

Cap looked across at Peter for a moment. He shared a glance with Wolverine and then sat down. "Peter...." he said slowly. "We've known each other for a while." He looked straight into Spider-Man's eyes. "If Tony knew something and told you.... if the Super Human Registration Act was really a distinct possibility.... you'd tell me, wouldn't you?"

Peter took his time for responding, he had to watch his words as it was clear to see that if someone would die to stop the Act then it would be Caps.
"Well me and Tony have been talking mostly about Business then superstuff, I've gotten a new job you know, I'm pretty much his right hand and head of R and D."He replied as he made himself comfortable in the chair by placing his feet on the table.
"Why do you ask?"

Cap studied Spider-Man. He wanted to believe him, he really did, but there was a voice in his heart which told him that would be foolish. He knew inside him- Tony knew something about the Act. And Peter probably did too. "I ask..." he said levelly. "Because I am Captain America. It is my duty to enforce the values of Ameirca and I won't let freedom be trampled upon by this Act."

"Well I don't really think it would end up with the world being enslaved, if this Act will be passed then it might work out for the good, just think of how stong the world will be if all of the superpowered beings stand together."Peter replied though he would leave it at that, he didn;t feel like starting a debat right now.
