IN THE WARROOM

[Human Torch]

"Clint this is pointless. I never waited this long at the DMV let alone something important. Either Apocalypse attacked again or their all still sleeping. Regardless, this is getting annoying."

Johnny got up as well and began pacing. He felt the stare from Mystique and snapped.

"What? Are you looking for me to explode?"

He went into a controlled Nova blast, setting plants on fire.

"Cause you passed."

He went back to normal after a few moments getting stares from the room, even Sue and Clint. Johnny simply shrugged and brought the fire from the plants back to him. He leaned up against the wall and yawned.

Johnny's comment brought some amusement to Mystiques emotionless face. "You sound very confident about yourself. I hope you're as confident as this in all areas of your life." Mystique said as she looked him up and down focusing her vision mostly on his body. "Or as confident when you're forced to take on the Thing or Reed," she said glancing at Sue. Mystique sat back in her seat and put a serious look on her face. "If you were forced to face Reed and the Thing in battle and had to kill them, do you think that you could do it." The question was clearly insensitive to Sue and Johnny, but Mystique really didn't care and wanted to hear the answer.

Mystique smiled at Clint's reaction to her question. If he thought that he had her figured out then he better think again. The most powerful telepath in the world couldn't predict Mystique's next move and there's was no way she was going to let this man in on her little games. "You miss understand me. I'm only curious." She said with a look of innocence.

Bishop had a good point. The others were taking entirely too long and Mystique was growing restless. "Maybe they all decided to go out and register." Mystique said with a sly grin.

[Hawkeye]

"Johny Patcience." Clint knew johny was impatient and so was hawkeye but he would wait as long as he needed and wasn't going anywhere. "I won't have a problem if you and sue wanna head back to HQ. I think I'll be fine hear." He said as he eyed mystique. "It is taking a rather long time for the x men to show. Bishop can anything be done to speed it up?"

[Human Torch]

"I'm staying right here. I'm as much a part of this as you or anyone else."

"To answer your question, I'll take care of whoever necessary if a fight comes down. If you had to kill Kurt or heck, 'Magnus', would you do it?"

[Bishop]

"Alright-lets stop that right there. that kind of crap isn't going to make this situation any better." Bishop said pushing off the wall. "The last thing any of us needs to see is anymore death. I know alot of this is inevitable-but lets not cross that bridge until we get there."

"And no hawkeye. I can't really do much. They'll come when they come. Sorry. this place has been in disarray as of late. Between House of M, the return of Apocalypse, this Vulcan character, Betsy's brother resurfacing we've been in the mix for a while."

Mystique smiled at Johnny's response to her question. "Spoken like a true hero. I think you're starting to rub off on him Clint or maybe thats me rubbing off on him." she said. "But could you really kill me Johnny," Mystique said as she morphed into Reed. "Or me. The lovable blue eyed Thing," she said this time morphing into the Thing. The boy was confident, but Mystique knew that he lack the emotional strength to do what needed to be done. "If you were really serious about this war then Reed would already be dead, because killing him would have crippled the other side," Mystique said with coldness as she morphed into her true form. "And to answer your question, I would kill both in a heart beat If I had to." There was no playfulness in Mystique's tone and she dead serious.

[Human Torch]

Johnny shot a pillar of flame out of his hand knocking Mystique out of her seat. He walked over and bent down.

"I don't care what side you're on. Do that again and you're dead."

[Hawkeye]

"Enough" roared Hawkeye at Raven. "Just because you will kill in cold blood doesn't mean you need to torture the kid. As for me I will do what I must if and when the time comes." Clint realized how young Johny was in that moment. Hawkeye decided he would look out for the kid, besides Torch reminded him of himself.


"I understand." A dark look crossed Clint's face at the mention of the House of M. He was dead beacuse of it, brought back to life because of it, and almost dead from its reprecussions. "It does suck though, being dead does make you value time" He said more to himself than to anyone else. He became throughly bemused by how disgusted Raven was at being stuck with them, even if she was messing with torch.

[Bishop]

Hawkeye's comments cause Bishop to dwell inside of himself. How many X-Men had he watched die just over his short time with them. His future was filled with the graves of the X-men and thousands of other mutants. He'd been around for Psylock'es death twice. The first time because he didn't bullet in Victor Creed. Could he himself do what had to be done when the time came. What if he had to put down any of the other X-Men. He wasn't sure-he wasn't much sure of anything right now.

Hero then rolled around in his thoughts-a hiss starying behind it to the icy cold speech of raven. No he wasn't a hero. He just wasn't one of the bad guys.

But then, what is he going to become once this war really starts up.

"Anytime now guys," Bishop says under his breath. "Anytime."

Mystique laughed as the flames caused her to hit the ground. Johnny's threat didn't phase her at all and she just brushed it off. "Do you know how many times I've heard that threat. For once I want to meet someone who can back up their words with actions." Mystique could see that Johnny seemed to be at the breaking point. She stood up and it was clear that she was taller than Johnny. This time she didn't morph into the Thing but applied his rocky skin texture to her own skin. This made Mystique seem a little bigger and more intimidating. "Listen here. You're playing with the big boys now, so grow up. And if you ever attack me like that again then you better be ready to kill me or pay a heavy price."

Mystique sat back down in her seat and morphed back to her normal form. She was getting tired of waiting and wouldn't wait to much longer.

[Human Torch]

Johnny saw Sue's stare and shrugged it off as he walked back.

''Who's in charge here? This is insane."

[Hawkeye]

"listen, Mystique leave him alone for all our sakes. I won't sit by much longer and watch you tortue him." Clint meant business. He hadn't been in a fight for quite a while. He couldn't stand mystique but secretly she intrigued Clint. "As much as you like screwing with him how you tell us why you hate us so much without knowing us?"

[Bishop]

"Hold on a sec, now Hawkeye. Mystique is defeintly no angle. But Torch here is the one flaring up. Make no mistake-I don't agree with her. but this is the X-Mansion and I'm not goign to tolerate anything breaking out within these walls."

[Human Torch]

"Bishop. You were wrong bfore you even said that. You say I'm wrong for talking about Magnus, yet she speaks about Reed and Ben. And I'm wrong to attack her while she pulls guns on everyone and assaults Clint, Sue and I verbally. If you wanna play favorites that's fine, but don't try to justify it."

[Hawkeye]

"I don't want anything to happen either but, by impersonatin people you hold dear and asking if you would kill them, would make anyone a little violent." Clint was sick of this sh**. He was bored and tired. He wanted to solve things civily and also see the other x men. He wondered what other members of the resistance were up to. What cap and doc strange were doing. He also wondered what was going through mystique and bishop's minds as he looked to each of them.
