CNN (ANTI-REGISTRATION) NEWS UPDATE:

The So-Called 'Super Human Registration Act' is now officially law as of Midnight. The Act has now been in place since a mere few minutes ago. The Act, which has caused a significent amount of contraversey, was passed in the wake of the Stamford Attack, though many question whether it should have been left to a time when emotions were less heated.
The Act states that all super-humans who do not register with the United States Government will be declared illegal and hunted down. Fredom fighter Captain America, who along with several other heroes (rumored to include one of the Fantastic Four) has still not been seen, and it is unclear how he wishes to respond to this. Meanwhile, New Avenger Iron Man supports the Act and is reportedly trying to squash his old friend's rebellion.

The Super Human Registration Act officially became law as of a few minutes ago. The Act, which was passed with almost the full support of the people of America and an unprecendented amount in favour in Congress, with only a few members of the Democratic Party opposing, claiming it to be a breach of civil rights.
The Act, which requires that loose cannon super heroes register themselves so as not to be a danger to all around them, has been resisted by terrorist and former hero Captain America, who has gone underground with a small group of rebels. Hero Iron Man is reputedly gathering an elite task force of heroes to stop his old friend before he injures someone else.
More news as it develops.

"DAMN" Hawkeye thinks to himself. "DAMN" Now Himself, as well as a number of other superheros were truly criminals in the public eye. With a thought Clint Barton realized something. "I'm dead, To the general public and all the heros other than in the resistance thought I was too. This can work to our advantage. I've got to find Steve I think I've got a plan."

Johnny shut off the TV and ran his hands through his hair.

He walked into the next room and picked up the fallen picture.

Efren had been standing outside of an older looking electronics store. He had been standing there watching the Knicks taking on the Lakers when suddenly it went to a breaking news story. A large grin spread across his face as the heard the news of the Registration Act was announced.
The crowd that was with him watching the game broke out in uproarious cheering and applause. A near-by woman was almost hysterical at the news, she grabbed Efren by the collar a laid a big kiss on him. ~Finally, maybe this country can finally be at peace...~ He thought to himself as the crowd began to die down a bit. He began walking away from the crowd and began walking, he needed to find the other Pro-Reg. forces.

Cap stood watching the television, unmoving. The other members of the Resistance were all in their rooms, and Cap was alone as he watched the CNN report. With numb hands he changed the channel. Another report. And another. And another. Every channel was saying the same thing. The Act was law.
The antithesis of all that America stood for, all that super-heroes stood for.
Cap clenched his fists so hard that they hurt, he stared down at the floor. He had known this was coming and yet it still somehow came as a shock. With a slight sigh, he relaxed his grip. And he knew, at that moment, inside him, that what he had long dreaded was going to happen. There was a super-hero civil war, and in that moment he knew with absoloute certainty he would have to fight Tony Stark. And he knew he would, too, because he knew with all his heart that he was right.
And yet standing watching the news of the ruination of his life's work, Steve Rogers had never felt so utterly alone.

But he wasn't alone. A single hand came to rest on his shoulder. The owner of the hand stood directly behind Steve, his blue eyes looking at the blond-haired Avenger. "Empathy, Steve. I know what you're feeling. And let me tell you...you're not alone. You have six loyal followers with the ranks rapidly growing." His hand slightly rubbed the shoulder.
"Get some sleep. It's late. Besides, from the looks of it..." He nodded to the television. "...the longest day in history is tomorrow."

Cap smiled tiredly at Stephen, grateful for the support. "Thank you, Stephen. Now that you mention it I think I will get some sleep." He looked seriously into his comrade-in-arms' eyes. "Tomorrow we make history." Cap turned and headed for his bed, as behind him the television continued to speak out about the Act being law. No middle ground, not any more.

Johnny saw Stephen as he walked out of the Captains room. He looked somewhat calm after hearing the recent news. Much more calm then Johnny, like he knew something everyone else didn't.
Maybe I should pick his brain a bit.
"Hey, Stephen. How's the Captain taking it."

And then came Johnny Storm. The hothead was infamous for being nosey as well as his promiscious nature. "Hard. I think it's just now hitting him as to how severe this is."

As the news report goes off, Piotr bows his head in silence. He knew that with this everything changed, and having signed the Pro-Registration himself, he knew that the time would come where he would have to do what was right. His fellow X-Men were torn by this Act, and though unsure of which way they stood he knew a battle was on the horizon. At this point, it was all but inevitable.

Johnny shrugged to Stephen's response. The Captain had a tough day and it'd be best not to bother him for a while and collect his thoughts.
"I expected as much. So, since he'd down, that makes you the temporary leader. What do we do now?"

Hawkeye enters the room just to here Johny's last sentence. "Whoa, whoa temporary leader? We didn't discuss this. As much as I like you I don't take orders very well. I've had to much expierance at being the leader." Hawkeye really did like the Doc but, Clint wasn't taking orders from anybody but Captain America. "I don't nessicarily want to be the leader but, I think in cap's absence it should be group decisions." Hawkeye really didn't mean to come of as an ass but thats just how he is.

Stephen turned to look at Clint. "I respect you and your decisions, but I've seen things no mortal can comprehend. I've participated in any war you can imagine. Steve is an icon, a battlefield veteran, and for that I commend him and respect his wishes. And for your safety and the safety of our rebellion, I will be law when Steve is unavailable. I'm the co-leader, and if you don't like that, Mr. Barton...then I'm sorry."
It was quite odd to see the good doctor take such a commanding tone. But considering the situation, can you blame him?
