History: Gambit used to roam the streets as a child until he was adopted by Jean-Luc, the leader of the Thieves Guild. While in the guild Gambit was arranged to marry Bella Donna Boudreaux, the granddaughter of their rival the Assassins Guild. When Bella's brother was injured badly by Gambit in a duel, gambit was forced to flee in order to prevent a war between the two guilds.
Gambit began to roam the streets of the world again, surviving by thievery. During the years of being homeless he took up playing cards charged with kinetic energy as his main weapon. Soon he found Storm, she had amnesia at he time and functioned as a child. Gambit helped to rescue her from th Shadow King. Later Professor Xavier came back from a trip in space and Storm, having regained her memory and returned to her regular age, vouched for Gambit to join the X-Men. He stayed with them ever since.
Gambit ended up falling in love with Rogue while with the X-men. Though recently they have been on touchy terms. When some of the X-men found out that he was partially responsible for a massacre of mutants years before, he left. The leave is temporary, but he can't predict exactly when he will be returning.

Remy kicked at the ground angrily. His stomach growled and twisted. He hadn't had a decent meal in two days. Sure he'd eaten, but nothing more than a few pieces of fruit and a small bag of chips. He ran a hand through his hair, thinking back to Rogue and how he had treated her.
"Tell me why." she demanded.
"I can't." he conceded. Gambit had never wanted to hurt her, but there he stood ripping her heart out slowly.
"Don't ever come near me again, Remy" she said with tears in her voice. He didn't try to argue, he knew he'd lose. He walked away, trying to keep his own tears from falling.
Now he walked the streets, stealing to survive. Old habits died hard.
