Well, it's begun! The Major Marvel event this entire RPG is founded upon began on Wednesday with Issue 1 of "Civil War." I was unable to pick it up until today, but I LOVED every moment of it. Captain America ROCKED in it. obviously I am a fan already but seriously, he was awesome. SPOILERS: Cap faces up to an entire SHIELD task force specially recruited to hunt Super-Heroes, takes down half of them and then escapes. We also see Iron Man, Reed Richards and Yellowjacket very quick to take the government's side, they tell the president at the end that they will take care of Cap, who's side is apparantly being referred to as the "Rebels." So basically the whole issue was one major set-up. With the last issue undoubtedly just being a conclusion, that means we'll probably only see five issues of the actual Civil War itself, so a good chunk of the War will be occuring side-books. Luckily I'll be getting as many of them as possible Spoilers End So Discuss the Civil War comics here.

man, it makes me so sad, i cant get my hands on barely ANY of my fav comic books or anime... we live in the middle of nowhere -.- collecting ElfQuest isn't very smart when you're at least 50 miles from the nearest shop.

My shop didn't have it in when I went, but it sounds like Cap kicked butt! Any Spidey action in it? I can't wait for him to betray Tony...I do like him, of course, but he went too far with the whole Titanium Man thing.

I'm normally a DC guy, but I started off in Marvel. I picked up Illuminati and it blew up my brain. I love Namor and Cap, but oddly enough, I side with Tony in actuality. To be absolutely cliche, 'Who watches the Watchmen?' Jut because the US isn't responsible enough to wield such power doesn't mean the individuals are either. Reed Richards, for example: the model of responsibility in that he is constantly figuring out new ways to visit other dimensions that he doesn't bother curing AIDS or cancer or stuff. At least Tony is Sec o' Def, actually using his gifts for the common good. Great stuff all around though.

Reed's intelligence is simply a part of his personality. HIs being able to stretch his body has nothing to do with being able to cure aids or any other disease. And if the governement were that concerned with AIDS themselves, they could always contract Reed, McCoy, or any of the other PhD's. in the MU-but they themselves aren't. Of course with registration-who does watch the watchmen?

Definitely against registration. They say heroes are above the law, but even if they are, they aren't above themselves. You look back at previous examples and you'll see that every time a hero has gone bad, other heroes aren't too far behind to stop them. Bottom line: the government is corrupt. Nick Fury is a bad guy now, for goodness' sake; even he's gone ''bad''! Crooked officials could get their hands on those files and spread 'em to eevry corner of the globe. Heroes save the world on a regular basis; why should thye be persecuted for doing that?

No, I still believe in the Pro-Registration values. I mean, in the Marvel Uni it's fine but in real life if people started swinging around beating up criminals with no cohesion or anything and a history of going bad, I would be against it. It's not like they can't still "super-hero" if the Registration Act is passed, but they'd make everyone feel safer. PS: Lol, I am actually pro registration and Iron Man is actually against

I'm pro registration as well, well it would be different if I ended up with superpowers, but if people would be having superpowers in real life, I doubt that it would be anything like the Marvel or DC or any other fictional universe, people would start using those powers to make money, there wouldn't be any spidermen's around, or atleast they would be outnumbered by thousands.
So, pro reg would be a lot safer.

lol, Cap, how ironic.
But still, why should the government have such information? What qualifies them to possess such knowledge? Look at the mistakes the governments of the world makes. The compare that to the record of heroes - sure, they may have made tons as well, but they always clean up after themselves. Somebody goes bad, the Avengers/X-Men/Fantastic Four are on it. A war might break out,the government launches a covert and unprovoked attack on the relevant country which then leads to disaster (thanks to Nick Fury).
