Creation Date: Est. April 1
Activity: High
Types/Kinds of Creatures Allowed: Humans
Difficulty: Intermediate – Hard
Plot/Intro: Imagine for a moment that you live in America. New York, in fact. It’s the year [deleted] and everything is running smoothly – heck, you even scored last night, right behind your significant other’s back. School’s out for the holidays. The worst thing that could happen is that your parents send you to spend the summer with your grandparents down is Australia. But that turns out to not be so bad, after all. Once they find out they’re not the little kid you used to be, they let you well alone and leave you to wander the town; hook up with the local gang and smoke around the burnt-out church.
So what crosses your mind when the first reports come in? Bombs dropped in New York and Los Angeles – bombs that didn’t explode. [Expletive deleted], you might think, how lucky it that? It didn’t explode. But then the cities are shut of, no one goes in or out. A plague has hit New York, and is about to hit Los Angeles. Like sand, it gets everywhere. Spend ten seconds in a lift with someone who carries the deadly sickness and you’ll catch it. Dead within 24 hours – the entire civilization of New York and Los Angeles wiped out.
Your parents, your friends, everyone you knew. Loved them or hated them – they’re all gone now. You, like so many people, are probably going into shock right about now. So when you learn that they plague’s gone, and that kids have started moving back into New York and Los Angeles – quite despite what the government says – you might decide to join them.
Join the Cigarettes with their highly excitable pyromaniac leader, or the Vampires, with their cruel mistress and their cold blood. Run with the feral Wildcats and their league of torturers – or, if it’s more to your style to sneak and plot, jump on the Wharf Rats bandwagon. If you can stomach it, take on the city on your own or as a freelance. But you’re one of us now, the Children of the Sandstorm.
