"Boaz Eschelmen, RVN World news.
It is now only a few months since the event commonly referred to as the "Decimation" or "M-Day" in which more than ninety-five per cent of mutants lost their powers through unknown means.
Since that time, there has been a steady flow of mutants to the Xavier Institute in Westchester, which is throwing open it's doors as a refuge to those still-powered mutants. The Institute, former home of the X-Men, is now belived to be home to 198 mutant refugees.
With the wave of anti-mutant sentiment still rising and most remaining mutants unsafe, the government has despatched a special fleet of Sentinels, Fleet O*N*E to protect the Institute against any oppresors. The Sentinels, formerly used to destroy mutants, will now help defend them.
Reportedly, tension is growing between Special Squad O*N*E and the mutant refugees. With the Professor Xavier still missing and a number of the mutants being protected being terrorists, pressure is growing on the government to withdraw their protection and their backing.
We will have more on this situation as it develops.
