Sentry arrived home first from Washington, as he always did. One of the perks of having superspeed and flight. He landed on the roof, where Tony's helicopters were now located. They would be arriving shortly. He went to the stairwell and began to enter. Finally, Home sweet home. I don't think I'll ever get used to the Press. Sentry thought as he walked in through the door, closing it. He stopped as he entered the doorway. He heard voices...illegal voices now. The voice of Stephen Strange in particular. Sentry looked toward the door. I should wait...Tony would want to see this. He'd want the chance to get the Captain himself.Sentry left back out the door and waited on the roof for the newly formed Avengers to return. The legal Avengers. It was about time they showed their faces.

Peter Parker, quite frankly, had had enough of the conference being held below. The prying questions from the press had irked him somewhat, as had Tony's tone. The metallic gladiator seemed to want a war...Peter exhaled as he roughly pulled his mask down to cover his face, completing the transformation to Spider-Man with a single, fluid movement. He would have to release his feelings, and the only positive way of doing that would be to discuss them with Tony himself. He launched himself out of his window and propelled himself onto the roof with a minimal grunt. A familiar figure was poised on the concrete, a grave look upon his face.
"Sentry," Spider-Man greeted solemnly. "What's up? Wait a sec..."
Voices. From inside. One of them unmistakable...Dr Stephen Strange, wanted fugitive. Holy...this is it, Spider-Man realised.

"Quiet....he's just leaving. There seems to be others. The Captain, obviously....Logan...and Cage, I believe. Our old buddies. I would have gone in but I figured Tony would want to see this for himself first. We could always go in and wait. It's up to you."
Sentry turned to Peter to get a look at his response. Peter had a much harder time at the press conference then he had and it showed on his face, even through the mask.
"One way or another, this won't be pretty."

Tony, still in his Iron Man armor had left the Press Conference immediatly after he had seen Peter leave. Doesn't he understand the things I have to say to the press?
He flew home, finding Peter on the roof.
"Hey. Are you angry at --"
He was silenced by Peter making a shushing sound, and tapping his finger to his ear. And that was when he heard it. Digitally enhanced, of course.
"try not to get into a fight this time. Your shoulder might be a little sore to remind you not to get shot again. If there is even a remote sign of violence, I'll know. If anything goes south, all of you grab each other and I'll teleport you back to base. Good luck."
"Violence? They think we're going to resort to violence, Peter!"

"Stephen left. Shall we go in?"
Sentry pointed to the door and awaited for approval from their leader, Tony Stark...Iron Man. Tony did his normal great conference appearance, as always. But now it was time to get down to business.
"I was just telling Peter, both Logan and Luke are in there with the Capt...Steve. We should be prepared for anything. Those two don't have the best tempers."

He's right, they haven't got the greatest tempers...did Steve bring them for that reason? Was this the man he knew?
"Let's go. Let's find out what they want..."

Spider-Man immediately raised his finger to his lips and softly hsuhed him as he began to speak. They didn't have time for commiserations at that moment. Sentry quickly informed him of the situation, whilst Spidey stayed motionless and silent. He continued to do so as Iron Man spoke about Strange's words.
"They think we're going to resort to violence, Peter!"
"Is it any wonder?" Spidey shot back, evidently irked. "The way you were speaking down there...that wasn't pleasing the crowd. You meant what you were saying. I said this to the Punisher and I'll say it to you - this isn't a war unless people want it to be." He pressed onwards, making sure to increase his speed enough so as to stay ahead of the pair behind him. "Are we going in, or not?"

Peter...you just don't understand...
Iron Man followed. "Let's go."
