Mutation/Powers: Wisdom can project shards of white hot energy from his finger tips which he refers to as “hot knives, he can also use them as claws and form a shield to protect him from certain projectiles. These shards can cut through nearly anything and are said to be as hot as the sun
History/Background: Wisdom was born in London to an alcoholic mother and an eccentric father who worked as a criminal profiler for New Scotland Yard. His family were dysfunctional to say the least, and his mother and father were soon divorced. He was always at odds with his parents especially his mother, who during an angry phone call told him he was a mistake. Unfortunately, on the same day, she was shot dead by a spree killer named Michael Ryan while standing at the window. His father never forgave him, and Wisdom too felt guilty, as he never had the chance to resolve their issues. It is unknown how or why Wisdom joined MI6 but he rose quickly in rank. He became romantically involved with woman named Sari St. Hubbins but was heartbroken when he found out she was a contract killer out to kill the queen, he handed her over to the government and received a commendation from her majesty. This incident caused him to doubt his own position in the secret service; this would grow when he joined the clandestine agency known as Black Air. While working for the aforementioned agency he garnered a reputation for being a loose a cannon and completing dangerous tasks beyond the call of duty, he shrugged his achievements of with a simple “It needed doing”. His mutant power qualified him for tasks involving a high body count, e.g. exterminating entire mutant cells, this started to take it’s toll and he sank into a deep depression. One day he viciously attacked a fellow agent known as Scratch, who had bragged about killing innocent civilians, this resulted in the aforementioned being scarred for life and the two became bitter enemies. Finally Wisdom had had enough and he persuaded his superiors to allow him work in an advisory role. By this time Black Air had replaced the W.H.O and for his next assignment Wisdom was instructed by Michelle Scicluna to accompany Excalibur, in a none combatant role, to Genosha as he had had a lot of dealings with the island. He seemed to alienate himself from the team almost immediately. The mission involved looking for a terrorist cell that had gained possession of anti-mutant ammunition, which may have originated in Britain. This was to have been Wisdom’s last mission before retiring, unfortunately the midnight runner was shot down, and wisdom was caught up in a street fight, putting an end to his none combatant status. The team never found out who the mastermind was, and it seemed Black Air had just used them to uncover whatever information they could find. Wisdom accompanied his team back to Muir Island to wait for his retirement to be finalized. While there he received a message from a friend work colleague named Culley, who was in need of private medical help and didn’t want Black Air to be informed. Kitty Pryde who didn’t trust him and wanted to keep an eye on him joined him, they discovered that Culley was dead and had been working as security chief on a top-secret project known as Dream Nails. After an assassination attempt by Black Air agents, he contacted an old friend called Jardine who informed Pete and Kitty that Dream Nails dealt with extra terrestrials The pair broke into the facility, Wisdom was captured and mentally tortured by a psychic mutant named Shrine who placed him in a room that filled with a virus that destroyed flesh when it detected stress. Wisdom bested shrine and turned the tables on him when he showed him the more violent memories of his past this shocked the mutant who in turn had his own flesh seared by the virus. Pete and Kitty discovered a race called the uncreated, destroyed the facility and escaped, during this adventure the pair had become attracted to each other and later formed a romantic relationship.
Wisdom and Pryde decided to organize a pub crawl and announced their courtship, after receiving threats from both Nightcrawler and Captain Britain, if he should ever do anything to hurt Kitty , the team seemed to welcome Wisdom as Shadowcat’s new boyfriend and the latest addition to the team. After a lot of drinking Excalibur returned home, and Wisdom decided to enjoy a cigarette in the night air. He was suddenly attacked by a jealous and half crazed Colossus who had decided to leave Magneto’s side and rekindle his relationship with Kitty. Pete didn’t fare well in the battle and suffered massive head and chest trauma and had to recuperate in a wheel chair, he was also dismayed to learn that Colossus, after spending time in a holding cell, was allowed back to serve on the team. Colossus wasn’t the only team member to make his life a misery, Lockheed, Kitty’s pet dragon took to stealing his cigarettes and Wisdom became the one of the very few people to find out that Lockheed actually spoke, as the creature insulted him when the other members of the team weren’t looking. Later Excalibur found out that there was a link between Black Air and the Hellfire Club, when their team mate; the latter kidnapped Douglock. Using information garnered by Alistair Stuart, the team set off on a vendetta and destroyed an acquisition station (Wisdom helped by using his hot Knives to obliterate their army vehicles). While at the station, they downloaded some documents that linked the organizations to acts of bribery concerning parliament. Wisdom passed on the information to one of his contacts called Jardine. On their way to rescue Douglock, Wisdom noticed his old enemy Scratch fleeing the base and decided to tackle him. Wisdom almost lost the fight but was rescued, unexpectedly, by Lockheed who burnt Scratch to a crisp. Shortly after the team rescued Douglock and saved Britain from certain doom Kitty and Wisdom were accosted by US agents who wanted to frighten Excalibur into staying away from America, what with Onslaught raging around the country, the pair managed to subdue their attackers, tie them up, and place them on a prison flight filled with dangerous mutants.
Wisdom later started to receive E-mails concerning his ex-girlfriend Sari St Hubbins when he got his colleague, Jardine to look into it, the latter ended up being killed via a bullet to the skull. Wisdom traced St. Hubbins to Hamburg, Germany and managed to get himself captured, it turned out his ex had started working for a remnant cell of Black Air and wanted revenge on Peter for turning her in. He later managed to escape but there was still the problem of rescuing Nightcrawler who had also been abducted by the clandestine group. The guilt put a strain on Kitty and Pete’s relationship and she decided to have a break from him. Excalibur later tracked Nightcrawler in Italy and managed to rescue him. Unfortunately Kitty had started to have a crush on a young SHIELD intern and felt Pete was aging her prematurely, the relationship ended and Wisdom hurt by the rejection left Excalibur. He later hooked up with a network of former Black Air agents who made it their mission to strike out at People and organisations that controlled the world behind a veil of secrecy. Wisdom took to wearing an eye patch (see clothing) and on one mission to Genosha he hooked up with Cannonball and X force asking for their help in keeping the faraway, a sub space travelling vessel, out of Magneto’s hands. After they prevented this, Cannonball and Wisdom became friends and he asked X force to help him form a team to fight clandestine societies. He trained the team to their full potential and named himself professor W. After X force completed a mission, involving containment of a dangerous strain of mutation that had broken free from a bio reactor designed by Dr Niles Roman, Wisdom faked his own death, making it look like Roman had shot him in the head, for reasons only known to himself. He later re surfaced when X force defeated his sister Romany who was conducting illegal alien experiments. He only informed his old colleague Alistair Stuart however and began working for the department. At the time of writing he is currently a member of new Excalibur alongside Dazzler, Nocturne, Juggernaut and Captain Britain himself.
Sample Post: Wisdom gritted his teeth as Captain America used him as a human shield against dozens of armed MI-13 agents he looked at his men and hoped one of them had the balls to take a shot "Okay... lemme get this straight... so, I'm meant to believe that a true blue american hero like yourself will break my neck like a twig if my men don't put down their weapons immediatlly" He knew he couldn't match the captain's fighting skill wise but one thing the hero wasn't was a stone cold killer who'd mercilessly end the life of a fellow government operative :-" Come of it mate...you haven't got the bollocks. I bet your idea of a strong tipple is a mug of Cocoa at bedtime. You probably start blushin' when desperate housewives comes on the box" He yelled an order at his men "Someone get a tranquilizer dart into this numpty! Can't you see he's bluffing?" The captain tightened his grip Wisdom could hardly breath, he broke into a cold sweat and canceled his order " errr...on second thought lower yer weapons...I believe this guy asked us to radio for a helicopter" (sorry if this sounds like godmodding I just thought I'd use the cap for my sample post
