She has retained some of the power she had as Binary, and is able to generate photon energy blast. These blast range from being weak to super powerful, depending on how much energy and focus Carol puts into them. Carol is able to absorb different forms of energy in order to increase her strength, flight speed, invulnerability, and the power of her photon blast. Carol has also retained her ability to instantaneously change from her normal clothes into her Ms. Marvel uniform.
History/Background: Carol was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. She is the daughter of Joseph and Marie Danvers. Carol was the only girl in a family full of boys, so she spent most of her childhood competing with her two brothers. This made Carol tougher than most girls her age and some boys too. Competing with her brothers also made her a lot smarter then most girls her age and very independent. After finishing high school Carol entered the Air Force, knowing that her chauvinistic father would never send her to collage. Carol turned out to be a top student at the Air Force Academy, and she rapidly rose through the ranks to the position of Major.
She had a distinguished military career serving in the intelligence field, and later for th CIA. Following her service with the CIA, Carol was appointed the position of chief security director for Cape Canaveral with NASA. It was here that she met the Kree warrior, Captain Mar-vell. It was Carols job the capture Captin Mar-vell, and to unravel the mysteries of the Kree Warrior. During their time together Carol and Captin Mar-vell formed a very close bond with each other. An enemy of Captin Mar-vell named Yon-Rogg took notice of this bond and kidnapped Carol in order to use her as bait to to lure Mar-vell to him. During the battle Carl and Captin Mar-vell was hit by a Kree weapon called the Psyche-Magnitron. The energy from the Psyche-Magnitron filled her body with Kree DNA from Mar-Vell, and gave her all of Captin Mar-vell's Kree knowledge and training. The experience had made Carol the perfect Kree human hybrid, and left her with superhuman strength, the ability to fly and a seventh sense that gave her premonitions of danger.
Because she failed to capture Captin Mar-vell she lost her job with NASA, but she quickly found a new profession as a writer. She got a job working for the Daily Bugle as editor of WOMAN magazine. While working as a writer Carol began to put her powers to use as a superhero. She battled many villains, and worked along side the Avengers a few times. In one of her many battles Carol faced the power absorbing mutant named Rouge. When she used her powers on Carol something went wrong and she absorbed too much of Carol's persona which included her thoughts and memories. Carol was amazingly rescued by an Avenger and sent to the hospital. Most of her memories were restored by Professor Xavier, but he could not restore the emotional link she had with these memories. After her memories were restored Carol didn't know what to do, and for the first time of her life she felt vulnerable. She stayed with the X-men for a while and even went on a few missions with them. On one of the missions Carol's powers were returned thanks to the alien Brood, but they were way more powerful. She was offered a permanent spot on the X-men, but after finding out that the Professor was allowing Rouge to join the team Carol refused.
Her new abilities made her more powerful than ever, and even allowed her to freely fly in the limitless boundaries of space as Binary. After spending some time in space Carol returned to Earth and found that her abilities had dramatically decreased in power, and were now on the same level as the ones she possessed as Ms. Marvel. After readjusting to life on earth Carol was allowed to join the Avengers full time. This loss in power hit Carol hard, and caused her to go into a deep depression. She soon began drinking and her performance as an Avenger began to decline. Her drinking problem was soon discovered and she was kicked off the team. After spending the next few months in rehabilitation Carol had managed to get over her drinking problem.
After the M Day and Stamford events Carol was left with a tough decision to make. She has decided to support the Super-human Registration act. Carol knows that many of her friend are against the act, but she feels that no one has the right to break the law Super Human or not. If her friends openly go against the act then she will be force to treat them like any other law breaking villian.
Sample Post: Carol felt the cold night air run through her long golden hair as a strong wind went right through her. She held her arms folded and kept close to her body in order the stay as warm as possible. "I hate winter," she said to herself as another cold breeze swept pass her. She continued to walk the dark streets of San Francisco until she came to her destination. Carol stood completely still and looked up at the place where her life was changed forever, the Golden Gate Bridge.
Even after all these years the bridge still looked very intimidating and Carol was beginning to re-think her decision to visit it. "Maybe this wasn't such a good idea," Carol thought to herself as she tried to take in the massive size of the structure. Carol knew that she would never do this if she had to walk the entire way, so she decided to fly instead. She effortlessly landed atop the bridge, and was only bothered by the slight chill she felt as her feet touched the structure.
"I had fought that girl many times before and won, so why wasn't I able to win that day," Carol said as she landed on the exact spot where the battle had happened, and the memories of the day came rushing back. The girl who attacked Carol was young and reminded Carol a lot of herself at that age. She had a fire about her that Carol could identify with, and she also seemed to be a natural warrior. If the circumstances would have been different Carol was sure that the two of them could have been good friends. The battle between the two didn't last long, and the price for loosing was one Carol wasn't ready to pay.
"I lost everything that day, my life, my powers, and my emotional ties to the past," she thought. It was funny that this place held so much pain for Carol, but was the only place she could really reflect and think. Her whole purpose for coming here was to make her finally decision on a really important issue. The Super-Human Reg. Act was now a law and it was time for Carol to pick a side. Now that the Act was a law she knew that there was no way that she could go against it, but that would also mean that Carol would have to fight and capture many of her friends. "What should I do?" Carol asked herself.
