Name: Anthony 'Tony' Stark
Alias: The Invincible Iron Man
Age: Tony is 39 years of age.
Gender: Tony is a male.
Side: Tony is the leader of the faction fighting for the Superhero Registration Act.
Appearance: Out of Armour, Tony is a tall, slim man with slicked-back ebony hair and a neatly-trimmed beard. He has stunning hazel eyes which support his soft facial features, that often make him seem younger than he actually is. Whilst in his Armour, he is a bulky metallic gladiator with a durable crimson-and-golden shell.
Height: 6'1''
Weight: 175lbs
Eye Color: hazel
Hair Color: black
Mutation/Powers: Tony has no inherent powers, but he has a genius-level intellect and created the Armour that makes him a superhuman. When he dons it, he is endowed with super-strength, super-speed, endurance, invulnerability, and flight, as well as a vast array of weaponry (often energy-based). He has also used his technical skills to create whole sets for different situations, which he accesses whenever necessary (for example, hydro-Armour for underwater assignments).
History/Background: Anthony Stark graduated at the top of his class in the undergraduate electrical engineering program at MIT whilst only fifteen years old and began working for his father's company. He inherited control of the company when his parents were killed in a car accident, his first act as chairman being to buy out the company that manufactured the faulty brakes on his parents' car and fix the problem. He then began to develop weapons for the US military, and journeyed out to Vietnam to see how his latest batch were performing on the battlefield.
Little did he know that this short trip would cost him his life as he knew it...
Tony and his Vietnamese friend, Yin Sen, were caught in an assault by a warlord named Wong Chu, and forced into building weapons for him. However, Tony was quickly dying - a piece of shrapnel from Chu's initial attack was threatening his heart's ability to function properly. He and Yin joined forces to construct a super-powered set of Armour that would allow Tony to escape as well as keep his heart beating. Yin sacrificed himself to complete the Armour, and Tony quickly donned it. Calling himself Iron Man, he made short work of Chu and returned to America, where he introduced himself as Tony Stark's new bodyguard.
Over the years, Tony expanded his father's company, renaming it Stark International, and improved greatly on his Armour, using it to defeat such foes as the Living Laser and Whirlwind. He was a founding member of the Avengers and used his funds and technical expertise to build their mansion, the X-Men's image inducers, the Quinjets, and Spider-Man's armored costume, among many others. His heart condition was cured by an artificial heart transplant, but after an explosive encounter with rival Justin Hammer, he became an alcoholic for a time before conquering this obstacle.
Obadiah Stane, a corporate enemy, severely shook the foundations of Tony's mental health and he handed his company and Armour over to his friend Jim Rhodes, becoming a homeless vagrant. He soon overcame these problems, however, and began another company, retiring from his life as Iron Man. This was not to be, however, as Jim went slowly insane and Tony was forced to return to his Armour and defeat Rhodes, as well as Stane. He retook his company and then went about destroying those who had traces of his Armour within their own, unwittingly causing the death of the Titanium Man.
He was declared an enemy by the United States and fell out with his best friend, Captain America, but faked Iron Man's death and patched things up with Cap. He told the government that a new person was under the Armour, and life went back to normal. He later faked his death and had a falling out with Jim Rhodes, who left to pursue a solo career as War Machine. Iron Man left the Avengers and formed Force Works, which soon split, and Tony was forced to return to the Avengers once again.
Things were not to be peaceful, however, as it was revealed that Tony was unwittingly a sleeper agent for Kang (later revealed to be Immortus)! Now fully under the Conqueror's control, he killed Luna's watcher and the female Yellowjacket before he committed suicide in order to subdue Immortus. He was replaced by a teen version of himself, taken from the past by the Avengers, and was left to rest in his grave, having died a hero. Another crisis loomed as the Avengers confronted Onslaught. They were all killed in the battle, but Franklin Richards used his immense mutant power to keep them all in a pocket universe, in which Tony was once again an adult. When returned to the normal universe, Tony renamed his company Stark Solutions, expanded it once again, and demanded a trial for his actions. He was cleared of his 'crimes', and rejoined the Avengers.
In order to stop the government using his technology, he was elected as Secretary of Defense, but this was cut short when, under the influence of the Scarlet Witch, he launched a drunken verbal attack on the Latverian ambassador. He was forced to resign and, having revealed his public identity a few months before that, said that he would step down and elect a new person as Iron Man, but continued on as the metallic warrior anyway. It was recently revealed that Tony attempted to form a clandestine, superhero government of sorts called the Illuminati, but this failed, and Tony has become a staunch supporter of the Superhero Registration Act.
Most recently, he journeyed to Washington with Spider-Man and hired the Titanium Man to attack him, gaining sympathy and attracting more supporters.
Sample Post:
Tony Stark is Iron Man.
On the outside, an impenetrable suit of armor, an icon.
Inside, he is a human being.
Inside, he feels a turmoil. His friends, his life, everything is divided.
But outside, he is a hero. He knows he has to project certainty to the public, to the heroes, to himself.
Because if on the outside, he is calm. Maybe, just maybe, on the inside he will be calm.
And that's what he needs. Calm.
So he fights. It's a paradox, one that has plagued man since the dawn of civilization. To make peace, there must be war. To have calm, there must be turmoil. To have order, there must be chaos.
But Tony Stark wonders what he's doing.
While Iron Man knows exactly how to fight.
