Captain America shuddered as he behld the carnage before him. What had once been a school and all it's surrounding area now totally levelled; a field of ash and strewn rubble. And corpses. Children's corpses. Adult's corpses. Charred skeletons. Hundreds of them. He was not the first superhero to arrive on the scene; he could see dozens more. Falcon was flying down to help rescue some trapped people; Iceman was skidding by on his Ice-slide, an extgended arm showed that Mr Fantastic was here.
The Avengers.
The X-Men.
The Fantastic Four.
Every super-hero group within a hundred miles was here.
Wasting no time, Cap leapt down and strode towards some firemen. "Where can I help?" he asked. The officer gratefully pointed to a huge fallen slab of masonary. "There are some kids trapped under that. We haven't been able to get them out, do you think..." "I'm on it." said Cap in an instant.
He could not help feeling sick. What... what maniac would cause this chaos? How could those... those MONSTERS who called themselves "Heroes" have DESTROYED THE LIVES OF SIX HUNDRED CHILDREN to get TV ratings. He shook his head. It was insanity. And he knew in his hear this would bring the Super Human Registration Act to the forefront.
He tried to pick up the piece of rubble but it was too heavy. He strained with effort but he could not pick it up alone....

She-Hulk appeared with a grim look on her face, the world seemed cold and empty to her. I knew that this was building up and now killing hundreds of children, when will the Killing end? She thought to herself as a tear trickled down her face and she wished she had someone to turn to at this time of sadness and great need. She wore her purple and white costume/gym suit when she suddenly snapped out of her sadness and thouht that she'd better hurry to save some children. She rushed over to a first rock which she lifted to find herself unsuccesful at finding children. A frustrated Shulkie sat down and cried.

Felicia finally arrived at the Stamford disaster. She made a quick glance around to see all the heroes straining to lift all the heavy rocks, she noticed Captain America trying his best but still unsuccesful when she noticed someone going to help him. With another peer about she saw Spider-Man, her trusted confident, she began heading over to him. "Not the greatest reason to meet again, eh Spider?" She called darkly from behind him. She crossed beside him and began helping around the same basic area as him, she dug at the ground with her sharp claws then jumped into the hole she'd made to find kids down there. "Hang on to me friends, we'll be safe soon." She said leaping out the hole with the kids on her shoulders. "KIDS!" Felicia had shouted to the ambulances so they would join he at helping revive the two children she'd saved, she brushed her hands together and glanced over to Parker. She folded her arms and looked at him. "How Long? How long have you been here helping the hundreds of dead children?" Felicia asked Peter while wiping tears from her green eyes.

As Captain America attempted to lift the too-large piece of rubble, a scarlet blast of energy would suddenly flash out to sear the chunk of granite down the middle, leaving Captain America only supporting half the chunk, with the other half falling harmlessly to the side thanks to the precise trajectory of the blast. The source made itself apparent as Cyclops approached to help lift the debris out of the way.
"Captain America," Cyclops greeted, simply, "We arrived as soon as we could. I just hope we are not too late."
Cyclops was even more restrained than usual, his voice tight as he fought down emotion in favor of getting the job done as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Captain America gave Cyclops a bitter laugh. "We're ALL too late." he said, gesturing at the devastation. "But we do what we can." He reached over and extended a hand to him. He was almost fighting back tears. He was Captain America. He was a superhero! And all the heroics in the world couldn't prevent this.
He looked up then and nodded. "I see your old friends have followed you." He said. Sentinel Squad O*N*E loomed up behind, solitary and unmoving, keeping an eye on the X-Men even here.

"So it seems, captain." Alex replied. He glanced around then up to the sentinels, he thought the machines were a waste of money as while they could have been preventing this instead they loomed over The good team, The X-Men! Havok ran over to help out lifting the debris, he ran to a small hole that had been blocked by the gates of the school fence. He fired his rays at the hole and shattered them to pieces before giving the kids his hand to help them out.

Cyclops took Captain America's hand in a firm grip and shook it as his brother approached from behind and spoke. He could hear the emotion in the Captain's voice, having recognized similar emotion in himself. He managed to suppress it for the moment in favor of saving as many as possible, but there was still a nagging voice in the back of his mind saying that all of this could have been prevented.
Even as he released Cap's hand, he glanced over his shoulder as Captain America referred to the squad of Sentinels standing guard at the edge of the disaster area. They'd tailed the Blackbird ever since it had taken off from the Institute, keeping watch over Cyclops, Havok, and the rest of the X-Men housed at the Institute. But Cyclops would ignore them, just as he ignored his own emotions.
Moving to his brother's side, Cyclops helped to pull the children out, ushering them off to the paramedics scattered around the area.

Unknowingly or unintentionally it had started. They had started it themselves. Death, as it always had been, would be Frank's calling card. To start now, to attack now, to deal the first blow, would be suicide. No. Frank thought to himself. He would wait, why fight when others will fight for you, for me; use their powers to fight themselves. Their kind. Frank could not see why, in a time already filled with fear, hate and loss, they would fight themselves, fight their dying race. Dodos . He had seen many wars, he had fought in most, when to fight he thought when to hunt, would be decided by them. The last of them. Frank would make sure of that.

Nightcrawler clutched his bible closer to himself. Equipping his image inducer, Nightcrawler potrayed nothing more than a young blonde hair man. He walked toward a group of survivors, huddled up drinking bottled water and wearing small blankets. He left kind words from god, and slowly walked away. Seeing the wreckage, the death, the children. It brought back memories of his foster brother Stefan, and the horror he brought him. He noticed a few fireman who look distraught. They were trying to move some rubble to get to some survivors, but there were fire and ripped up electric lines. "Don't worry!' yelled Kurt as he turned his hologram off, revealing his true self. He *BAMF* teleported into the small enclave. Their was an older man, most likely a teacher, who seem shell shocked but still alive. For the others around him, they weren't so lucky. He *BAMF* teleported the man out. "Are their any others?" asked a police officer. "Yes," Kurt replied "you should bring some body bags." he said sadly.

Murdock arrived in Stamford. The view was of the dead corpses, corpses of hundred of children. Daredevil was looking the other heroes in the disaster site, try to help the police and some doctors. He saw Captain America, surrounded by many other heroes. He didn't approached him.
"It's not the best time to talk to each other now" thought Murdock while he was approaching the site.
He saw the She-Hulk, Spiderman and all the other heroes searching for any survivors. The view was horrible. Many children dead. Everywhere corpses!!! Daredevil move along, approaching the site. He smashed a first rock but he didn't find anything. He was sure that in a distraction like this, nobody could be able to survive even a super-hero. Although he thought that the operation would be unsuccesful, he moved along to the rubbles to continue his search...

As soon as he gos the news, Namor sped to Stamford. With tensions on the act, this will indeed give the government the excuse they needed. Though it was a surface concern, the events of this day will soon concern the entire planet. Wasn't this exactly what Stark said would happen... Exactaly. No, Stark was a misguided fool, not a madman. The Prince ignored him for the time being.
Upon arrival, Namor spots Dare Devil, and commanded him to use his senses to find the survivors so he could use his strength most effectively.
(changed per instructions below)
OOC: I'm not saying that Murdock would cooperate with Namor, only that he tell DD to help him.

Devastation.
Complete and utter devastation.
Although the construction work was resounding throughout the area, Iron Man could only perceive a deafening silence ringing in his ears. He trudged across the disaster site, his face twisting into various expressions as his metallic boots crunched againstt the wreckage.
The Avenger knelt beside a hunk of the nearly-incinerated schoolbus and reached out to a backpack. It must have belonged to one of the children aboard; as he touched it, the charred remains of textbooks joined the ashes of their owner amongst the wreckage. The remnants of a photo - by the looks of it, a family portrait...dated a week earlier. Iron Man gulped and closed his hands around it.
"Rest in peace," he murmured, before rising to his fee tna dmaking his way over to Captain America.
The atmosphere was subdued. It felt like reality had suddenly taken leave of itself...yet somehow, it was real in a different way to each and every one of them.
"Steve..." Iron Man pressed the photo in his comrade's gloved hand. "Oh God, Steve, this was awful."

Echo stood, looking over the reckage with an expression of utmost horror frozen on her face. She had recently received the news, and from the urgency, had expected something bad, but not like this... never like this. Maya slowly fell to her knees and began shifting rubble, trying to search for survivors, but it was almost useless. Echo walked slowly over to Captain America. "Cap... who could do such a thing?"
